Message With that attitude everyone would be driving around in a bone stock, non modded, no body kit wearing Z! Hey wait a minute, a bone stock Z is absolutely beautiful as it is....

Many of the modifications that people have dreamed and developed are based on improving functionality, performance, or looks. While "looks" are subjective (because you can almost always find someone who thinks anything looks good/cool/tyte-yo!), and functionality can be as well (since different people have different needs/preferences), performance is considerable more objective. What 92naz32 asked about was why the original poster would be interested in spending considerable time/money/resources for something that would decrease functionality by making the car a severe pain in the ass to get in and out of. He didn't ask: "What's the point of modifying the car?" He asked: "What's the point of this modification?" Where's the benefit? It's a valid question. And it's possible that there is a valid answer, but that answer should not simply be "to be different." There are plenty of other ways to be different, many of which are actually useful as well.
